Cherie Butler

Cherie began as a creative in music as a singer song-writer. She discovered her talent in photography first through her iPhone, which was always with her on hikes and adventures. Finding herself stopping to capture the plants, landscapes, and natural forms around her, yet frustrated by the (then) limitations of the iPhone, she dipped into "real camera" photography. Not a technophile, she has slowly grown in her art and comfort with her camera and photo-editing. Like most nature photographers, she finds herself not taking photos OF nature, but rather taking photos while EXPERIENCING nature.

Malcolm's journey with photography started in Junior High with an all-manual Pentax SLR camera, and a darkroom in his bedroom closet. Fast forward through a degree in Philosophy, a life of adventures with Cherie, and a career in medicine, he is now retired and shooting with a Canon R5 and lenses worth more than his first car. Creating beauty now provides the rationale for adventures and quiet moments with nature, and is stretching him to grow in colorful new ways.
